Welcome! I’m Lonnie Pomeroy, a mum and a healthy foodie who believes it should be normal for children to be raised on food that is free of additives, excessive sugar and highly processed ingredients. It’s a combination of passion for my family to be their best selves and my passion for baking that mixes well for the most part and has formed this blog. It is here that I share the simple recipes that are staples for our family. Little bare is all about sparking inspiration and offering new ideas for people looking to improve their family’s health.
All of my recipes are free of gluten, most are free of dairy (we do use butter) and refined sugars. Some of them are free of eggs and nuts and are often able to be made paleo, vegan and keto. I don’t believe that every family should eat one way or another or follow ‘fad diets’ by any means. I simply share the recipes that work for us due to our own dietary requirements.
Since being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer at 16, I made optimum nutrition incredibly important for my recovery but it was really more when I had my two children, Maggie and Fletcher that my true commitment to living a fully health orientated lifestyle came. We now all eat a diet rich in nutritious whole foods, make most things from scratch, know where our ingredients have come from and take care to prepare them properly.
It is this journey that has lead to sourcing a selection of quality products that I am proud to put my name to. Currently I have coconut cream, raw cacao powder (my two favourite superfoods) and a baking mix range. Little bare food company products are available in a small selection of specialty stores in Nelson and Marlborough and directly via our website and Facebook shops.
I hope you enjoy your visit to the blog and enjoy trying some of my recipes, browsing the store and becoming part of the little bare community.
With lots of green, sprouted, activated, slow cooked, fermented, gluten free and sugar free love,
